Hi everyone, and welcome to my new look website! I hope that you will like as much as I do, and that you will find it to be an improvement. It has been easy to organise things on this one, and it doesn't look so cluttered! Mainly though, having a blog is a good thing for me, as I often like to talk about what has inspired me to paint, so this site has more of an immediacy about it. Also I hope it will encourage some interaction between us too!
I have a big watercolour art exhibition coming up on 15th August in Conwy. The preview evening is on 15th August at The Tabernacle, Conwy (near the police station) at 7pm (by invitation only), then it will run for two weeks. Hope to see some of you there.... I have finally finished all the Conwy paintings, and it is these that will dominate the exhibition, but there will be others too. As, for example, I am going to do a series on British butterflies, and I will post the first one of that soon, but for now here is one of the Conwy ones, which in fact has just sold ahead of the exhibition, but as usual there are limited edition prints available.

This painting is called "The Black Lion" (Llew Du) in Welsh, and it was built in 1589 by John Brickdall, vicar of Conwy. In the 1700's the building was turned into The Black Lion Inn, a usage that continued for 200 years.
